CFP MSA is currently facilitating the formation of the CFP Interest Group, which will be made up of System OEMs and End Users who have a strong interest in promoting the use of industry standard from factors, such as CFP, CFP2, and CFP4. This is partly driven by a concern about proliferation of proprietary form factors, which will fragment the optics market, increase development costs for Module and System OEM suppliers, and increase operating costs for End Users. Further details of Group activities will be published in the near future.
